Cultivation system

Di Virgilio Organic  farm business has been cultivating his lands following all the rules necessary to meet organic standards for more than ten years. Organic agriculture is a system that relies on ecosystem management rather than external agricultural inputs. It is a system that begins to consider potential environmental and social impacts by eliminating the use of synthetic inputs, such as synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, genetically modified seeds, preservatives, and additives. This is what Di Virgilio Organic farm business  does.

We sustain the health of soils and we do a preventive defense of the crop and, if necessary, we use natural mineral substances as cave sulfur, Bordeaux mixture, Sodium silicate, and natural microorganisms as Ampelomyces Quisqualis and Bacillus Thuringiensis.

We believe in the role of organic agriculture: sustaining and enhancing the health of soil, human and planet. Our company has helped to reinforce that innate physiological relationship between Humans and the Earth.

As to pruning we adopted the technique of cordon ramming which sacrifice quantity for quality. In fact, with this technique the quality of the wine is clearly superior.
